Maryculter is a small village situated in the Lower Deeside at the entrance to Royal Deeside. The town is an ideal base for exploring all Aberdeen and Grampian has to offer including Scotland`s only Castle Trail, the Victorian Trail and Whisky Trail, the only malt whisky trail in the world.
A brief history of Provost Skene`s House Dating from 1545, Provost Skene`s House is the oldest surviving townhouse in Aberdeen.
Maryculter House has been 800 years in the making. We can trace our history right back to the time of the Great Crusades, when the Knights Templar were granted part of the land of Culter, on the south side of the River Dee, by King William the Lion in 1187.
